Dissipative structures in a parametrically driven dissipative lattice: Chimera, localized disorder, continuous-wave, and staggered states

چکیده

Discrete dissipative coupled systems exhibit complex behavior such as chaos, spatiotemporal intermittence, chimeras among others. We construct and investigate chimera states, in the form of confined stationary dynamical states a chain parametrically driven sites with onsite damping cubic nonlinearity. The system is modeled by respective discrete damped nonlinear Schrödinger equation. Chimeras feature quasi-periodic or chaotic dynamics filled area, quantified time dependence total norm (along its power spectrum), largest Lyapunov exponent. Systematic numerical simulations, combination some analytical results, reveal regions parameter space populated stable localized different types. A phase transition from disordered to spatially one identified. Essential parameters are strength detuning forcing, well lattice’s coupling constant.

Dissipative Wave Model Fitting Using Localized Sources

This paper introduces a novel method to estimate the parameters of a linear dissipative wave model from noisy observations. We focus on the case of constant coefficients and an unknown localized source. These constraints are motivated by applications in computational neuroscience and in particular separation of sources in the visual cortex in optical imaging modality. The proposed method takes ...

Dissipative solitary states in driven surface waves.

We present an experimental study of highly localized, solitonlike structures that propagate on the two-dimensional surface of highly dissipative fluids. Like the well-known Faraday instability, these highly dissipative structures are driven by means of the spatially uniform, vertical acceleration of a thin fluid layer. These structures, harmonically coupled to the external driving frequency, ar...

Localized modes in dissipative lattice media: an overview.

We give an overview of recent theoretical studies of the dynamics of one- and two-dimensional spatial dissipative solitons in models based on the complex Ginzburg-Landau equations with the cubic-quintic combination of loss and gain terms, which include imaginary, real or complex spatially periodic potentials. The imaginary potential represents periodic modulation of the local loss and gain. It ...

Instabilities of localized structures in dissipative systems with delayed feedback.

We report on a novel behavior of solitary localized structures in a real Swift-Hohenberg equation subjected to a delayed feedback. We shall show that variation in the product of the delay time and the feedback strength leads to nontrivial instabilities resulting in the formation of oscillons, soliton rings, labyrinth patterns, or moving structures. We provide a bifurcation analysis of the delay...
